What you'll learn

What your DNA reveals in this test

Methylation, detox & cellular processing

How your genes may shape methylation, the transsulfuration pathway, and the two phases of detox your body uses to process everyday compounds. The well-known MTHFR gene sits here.

Nutrition, vitamins & food response

How well your body absorbs vitamins and minerals, responds to different foods and diet types, and handles histamine and common food triggers.

Weight, appetite & metabolic response

How your genes may shape hunger, fullness, fat storage, blood sugar handling, and the way your body responds to losing weight and keeping it off.

Fitness, performance & recovery

How your genes may shape endurance versus power, mitochondrial energy, training response, and how your body recovers from exercise.

Hormones, thyroid & fertility

How your genes may shape estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone balance, thyroid hormone activity, and fertility-related pathways, for context to review with your provider.

Longevity, heart & healthy aging

How your genes may shape cellular aging and telomere maintenance, inflammation, heart and cardiovascular balance, and joint, bone, and skin resilience. Context, not a diagnosis.

What this test covers

This test analyzes your DNA across all 10 PlexusDx genetic reports: 767 markers across 176 traits, grouped into the six areas below.

Methylation, detox & cellular processing

How your genes may shape methylation, the transsulfuration pathway, and the two phases of detox your body uses to process everyday compounds. The well-known MTHFR gene sits here for folate handling, alongside COMT and CBS for methylation and GSTP1 for conjugation.

You do not have to act on all of it. Pick one or two areas, talk them over with your doctor, and build from there. This test shows genetic tendencies, not a diagnosis. It does not diagnose, treat, or predict any condition, and it does not guarantee any specific outcome.

Is this test right for you?
Who it's for
You are starting with your DNA and want one cheek swab to cover your whole body, from methylation and nutrition to hormones and longevity.
You are juggling several goals at once, like weight, energy, hormones, and healthy aging, and want them in one place.
You want personalized nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle context built on your genetics, not generic advice.
You want one test for life, since your DNA results never expire and new reports keep adding value.
You want a DNA foundation to discuss with your provider and to pair with blood testing.
What it is not
A diagnostic test. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
A measure of your current nutrient, hormone, or toxin levels. It reflects genetic tendencies and processing capacity, not exposure.
A promise of any specific health outcome. Your genes are one factor among many, including diet, activity, sleep, and overall health.
The right starting point if you already have PlexusDx DNA on file. In that case, add the individual reports from your Results Portal instead.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Functional Health Genetic Test analyze?

It reads 767 genetic insights from a single cheek swab across 10 reports and six areas of health: methylation and detox, nutrition, weight, fitness, hormones and thyroid, and longevity and heart health. You get one whole-body view of your DNA.

How is this different from buying the reports separately?

This test bundles all 10 PlexusDx genetic reports into one kit at one price, so you get the full 767-insight picture instead of one area at a time. Everything lives together in your Results Portal, where patterns across nutrition, hormones, and metabolism are easier to see.

What do I receive, and how long does it take?

You receive a cheek-swab kit with a prepaid return envelope. After our CLIA-certified lab processes your sample on the Illumina Global Screening Array, your results are ready in the Results Portal in about 2 to 4 weeks, with all 10 reports and personalized suggestions. Minors can be tested when a parent or guardian registers and oversees the kit.

Is this a medical or diagnostic test?

No. The Functional Health Genetic Test is for education and wellness, not diagnosis. It shows genetic tendencies, not a diagnosis or a prediction of disease. Always talk with a qualified healthcare provider before making medical decisions or changing medications.

Which genes does the test actually look at?

It analyzes 335 genes across methylation and detox (MTHFR, COMT, CBS, GSTP1), nutrition (VDR, HFE, FTO), weight and metabolism (MC4R, PPARG, TCF7L2), fitness (ACTN3, PPARGC1A), hormones and thyroid (SHBG, CYP19A1, DIO2), and longevity and heart health (FOXO3, SIRT1, TERT, APOB). Each insight reflects genetic capacity, not exposure or diagnosis.
