How are brand-name and compounded GLP-1s different?
Brand-name GLP-1s such as Wegovy® and Zepbound® are FDA-approved medicines made by Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly; compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for one patient from a prescription and are not FDA-approved.
Both PlexusDx and Hims & Hers start with an online intake and a licensed U.S. provider's review. Hims & Hers sells brand-name medications, billed separately from its membership. In the PlexusDx program, a 503A compounding pharmacy, a state-licensed facility that prepares medication for one patient from a valid prescription, fills the prescription and ships it to your door.
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, quality, or effectiveness. They are a legal, provider-prescribed option prepared by a licensed pharmacy, not a generic or a substitute the FDA has evaluated.
How did we check these prices and reviews?
We read Hims & Hers' weight-loss, membership, product and FAQ pages on hims.com and forhers.com on Oct 28 and 29, 2026, and its Terms, help center, Trustpilot and BBB pages on Oct 29.
Hims & Hers prices medication only after a provider prescribes it, so we did not reach its checkout; the tables show the starting prices it lists on its own pages, medication only, with its membership on its own line. PlexusDx prices come from our product pages on the same day.

Hims & Hers lists GLP-1 injections from $199 a month, medication only, plus a membership: $39 the first month, then $149 a month (Oct 29, 2026). Wegovy® Pen and Ozempic® injections are listed from $199 a month and Zepbound® from $299; Ozempic® is FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes and offered only to patients who meet clinical eligibility criteria, Hims & Hers says. PlexusDx semaglutide is $149 a month and tirzepatide $189, with no membership fee.
Does Hims & Hers have a membership fee?
Yes: $39 the first month, then $149 a month, and Hims & Hers says medication is not available without it. Its Terms list an initial telehealth evaluation, monthly check-ins, unlimited provider messaging and nausea medication if prescribed; medication is billed separately. PlexusDx has no membership fee.
Does the Hims & Hers membership include medication?
No. Its membership page says "Medication cost not included," and GLP-1 medication is billed separately, only if a provider prescribes it. Hims & Hers lists Wegovy® Pen from $199 a month and Zepbound® from $299, medication only, and says "Pricing may vary by dosage." PlexusDx semaglutide is $149 a month with no membership fee. Checked Oct 29, 2026.
Is Hims & Hers cheaper than PlexusDx?
No, on the prices it lists: Hims & Hers lists Wegovy® Pen from $199 a month and Zepbound® from $299, medication only, against PlexusDx's $149 and $189 (Oct 29, 2026). Its membership, $39 the first month, then $149 a month, is billed on top. The products differ: Hims & Hers sells brand-name, FDA-approved medications, and PlexusDx's semaglutide and tirzepatide are compounded and not FDA-approved.
How much is Zepbound at Hims & Hers?
Hims & Hers lists Zepbound® vials and pens from $299 a month, medication only, plus its membership (Oct 29, 2026). A separate Zepbound® listing and Mounjaro® are $1,899 a month. The membership is $39 the first month, then $149 a month. PlexusDx tirzepatide is compounded, not Zepbound®: $189 a month.
Does Hims & Hers' price go up with dose?
It can: its FAQ says "Pricing may vary by dosage," and its Wegovy® Pen and Zepbound® vial and pen prices are "from" prices. No page lists a price for each dose (checked Oct 29, 2026). At PlexusDx, your dose may need to go up; your price won't.
When does Hims & Hers charge your card?
The membership when you sign up, and medication only if a provider prescribes it, its help center says. Its Terms say the first month's membership fee is non-refundable. At PlexusDx, cards are charged once your prescription is sent to the pharmacy.
Can you get a refund from Hims & Hers?
Not for the first month's membership fee, or for medication once it has shipped, its Terms say. A first medication order is refunded if you cancel within 48 hours of submitting payment and before it ships, and a renewal if you cancel at least 2 days before the billing date (Terms dated Oct 20, 2026). PlexusDx gives a full refund if you cancel after approval and before your prescription is sent to the pharmacy.
How do I cancel Hims & Hers?
In the app or your online account, or through its help center, at least 2 days before your next billing date, its Terms say. Cancelling the membership also cancels the medication plan; cancelling only the medication keeps the membership, and its charges, active. With PlexusDx, you turn off renewal in your patient portal before the next charge.
Does Hims & Hers take HSA or FSA?
For medication, not for the membership: Hims' FAQ says the medication fee is FSA/HSA eligible and the membership fee is not. It also says FSA/HSA cards can't be the payment method on file, and suggests paying by card and claiming reimbursement. PlexusDx accepts HSA and FSA cards at checkout.
