How does compounded GLP-1 telehealth work?
You complete an online intake, a licensed provider reviews it, and if treatment is appropriate a state-licensed 503A pharmacy prepares and ships your medication, with no in-person visit.
Both PlexusDx and altRx start with an online intake and a licensed U.S. provider's review. In the PlexusDx program, a 503A compounding pharmacy, a state-licensed facility that prepares medication for one patient from a valid prescription, fills the prescription and ships it to your door.
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, quality, or effectiveness. They are a legal, provider-prescribed option prepared by a licensed pharmacy, not a generic or a substitute the FDA has evaluated.
How did we check these prices and reviews?
We completed altRx's sign-up to the order summary for all eight plans on Oct 21, 2026, without paying, and read its Terms, refund policy, BBB and Trustpilot pages the same day.
We recorded every plan length for both drugs. The tables show each company's checkout price. PlexusDx prices come from our product pages on the same day.
Who wrote this. The PlexusDx editorial team wrote this page, and Dr. Jayden Lee, PharmD, reviewed it for accuracy.

Does altRx's price go up with dose?
No. Like PlexusDx, altRx says "Same price at every dose." At PlexusDx, your dose may need to go up; your price won't.
Can you get a refund from altRx?
Under its refund policy (Aug 25, 2026), only if a provider finds you medically ineligible, and then only in part. altRx's refund policy, updated Aug 25, 2026, says all payments are final and non-refundable at the time of purchase, and that 3-, 6- and 12-month plans are non-refundable in whole and in part, including months in which no medication was shipped. After a medical disqualification, it refunds the unused part of the term, less services already provided. PlexusDx gives a full refund if you cancel after approval and before your prescription is sent to the pharmacy.
How do I cancel altRx?
Email care@altrx.com, call +1 607-601-6969 or cancel in your online account at least 72 hours before your next billing date. That is the deadline in altRx's refund policy. Cancelling stops future billing, and amounts already paid are not refunded. With PlexusDx, you turn off renewal in your patient portal before the next charge.
Is altRx FDA approved?
No. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved, at altRx or at PlexusDx. Compounded medications are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, quality or effectiveness; a state-licensed pharmacy prepares each one from a provider's prescription.
What pharmacies does altRx use?
altRx's FAQ names four compounding pharmacies: RedRock Pharmacy (Utah), Health Warehouse (Kentucky), Precision Medicine (New York) and Triad Rx (Alabama). Its site says prescriptions are filled by state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacies in its network. In the PlexusDx program, licensed 503A pharmacies fill prescriptions.
Does altRx include a genetic test or lab work?
Not in the sign-up we walked on Oct 21, 2026: it had no genetic test and no lab step. altRx's refund policy says its program includes "lab services where applicable." PlexusDx sells the at-home GLP-1 & Peptide Pathways Genetic Test and at-home blood tests from $129, each separately from any GLP-1 plan.
Can I talk to a pharmacist?
Yes. PlexusDx offers a free 15-minute consult with Dr. Jayden Lee, PharmD, by video or phone. It is education and support; a licensed provider makes any prescribing decision.
What does the PlexusDx genetic test do?
The GLP-1 & Peptide Pathways Genetic Test shows how your genes relate to weight management and other peptide-related pathways, with 150+ genetic insights across 14 health pathways from one swab. It does not select or predict a medication; your provider decides. It costs $298, or $99 for program members, and is sold separately from any GLP-1 plan.
PlexusDx tells you about your biology. It does not tell you what to put in your body.
