Tirzepatide Weight Loss in Studies, From the First Month to 3 Years

About 6% of starting weight by week 8, roughly 12 pounds from 200 (our arithmetic), is the average among people still taking Zepbound (tirzepatide) in SURMOUNT-1, a trial in adults with obesity, or overweight plus a weight-related condition, and no diabetes; more than a third had not yet lost 5%, and the trial reports we checked give no first-month average. In U.S. health records, adults with overweight or obesity who started Mounjaro had lost 5.3% on average at 3 months and 8.2% at 6 months, counting people who stopped, or 5.9% and 10.1% among those still taking it.
