Clostridioides difficile, commonly called C. difficile or C. diff, is a bacterium that can cause severe
diarrhea and colon inflammation, usually after antibiotics disrupt the protective community of gut microbes. Not
everyone exposed to C. diff gets sick, and not everyone who gets sick relapses. Part of that difference lies in the
